UTM RECREATIONAL FOREST EXPLORE THE TROPICAL LIFE!
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Recreational Forest is a 53-hectare reserved forest located within the UTM campus. It boasts stunning natural beauty with hilly terrain that serves as a habitat for diverse flora and fauna. Covering an area of 3.5 square kilometers, the forest was inaugurated on December 22, 2004, by former UTM Vice Chancellor, Tan Sri Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Zulkifli bin Tan Sri Mohd Ghazali. Situated within UTM’s forest reserve at an elevation of 27-73 meters above sea level, it provides a serene retreat for nature lovers.
The Ecotourism Campus initiative was introduced on October 1, 2009, and has since been fully managed by the Ecotourism Campus Unit under the Services Division, Office of Asset and Development, UTM. One of the unique features of UTM Recreational Forest is the Herbal Garden and Nadir Plants Collection, which are rarely found in other recreational forests, making it a distinctive destination for ecotourism and environmental education.
